Dozens of trees going to be planted in Martin, Fontana parks

Extra hands are needed to help plant 55 trees this winter at TJ Martin and Jeffrey Fontana Parks and in adjacent neighborhoods in Almaden Valley. The trees will be located near homes and others in the parks to replace ones removed earlier this year by Pacific Gas and Electric along Almaden Expressway for their gas pipeline safety program. Workers from Our City Forest and the Martin-Fontana Parks Association will add the new trees during two planting parties at the parks, one on Dec. 16 and the other on Jan. Читать дальше...



Wild turkeys are turning heads in Willow Glen

A band of seven wild turkeys spotted in Willow Glen apparently never got the memo about the dangers of Thanksgiving when they went public about a month ago. The feathered flock has kept a high profile in recent weeks, spotted by neighbors in their front yards, on the Los Gatos Creek Trail, at Booksin Elementary School and River Glen Park, and crossing Coe and Meridian avenues. A few motorists have also had their feathers ruffled by the birds darting into traffic.
