The 2024 Hyundai Kona N Line AWD Crossover SUV

What is a Kona? The Kona is a subcompact crossover SUV built in the Ulsan, Korea assembly plant and sold worldwide by Hyundai. Since its inception the Hyundai Kona has stuck to a basic formula and adds some driving fun with the N Line edition. The 2024 Kona has been stretched 6 inches in length, with new exterior styling, and it now has a full array of tech and comfort options to compete directly in the subcompact class.

The N Line has exclusive details, like its signature color, the 19” N Line alloy wheels, and a one sided double muffler. The wheel arch cladding and door trim blends in well with the body color and that makes it stand out from the rest of the KONA line up. With more power, better handling, and premium tires over a standard Kona, the N Line brings enhanced performance and a combination of new tech, safety and premium amenities.

This week Hyundai sent me a 2024 Kona N Line SUV to test drive and review. The base window sticker price for this AWD model is $32,150. The options on the test SUV are: just the carpeted floor mats for $210. The manufactures suggested retail price, including the $1,335 destination charge, is: $33,695.

After adding in the state and local sales tax, plus the DMV and dealer fees, the out the door and in your garage total purchase price came to: $37,907. At just $93 bucks under $38 Grand you get a great looking, fun to drive, subcompact crossover SUV with sporty looks and more technology than ever before. Plus, it gets 24 MPG city, 29 MPG highway and 26 MPG in combined driving.

Power comes from a 1.6 liter inline 4 cylinder turbocharged gas engine with 190 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque, bolted to an 8 speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and a shift by wire gear selector, then sent to an all wheel drive (AWD) traction control system. There’s power, traction, stability and control all rolled into one driveline.

The advanced safety items include: front and side curtain airbags, forward collision avoidance assist, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, driver attention warning, blind spot collision warning, rear cross traffic collision avoidance assist and safe exit warning.

The new Kona N Line features: heated side mirrors, LED headlights, LED taillights, LED daytime running lights, automatic headlights with high beam assist, a moonroof, heated front seats, full navigation, a backup camera, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, a digital key, a wireless phone charging pad, BlueLink, a Wi-Fi hot spot, a 12.3″ center stack digital display screen and a Bose premium audio system with 8 acoustic speakers.

Not to be outdone by the competition, the Kona N Line has sport seating surfaces, a leather wrapped steering wheel, alloy sport pedals, smart cruise control, highway driving assist, a 12.3″ digital instrument cluster, dual automatic temperature controls, rear air vents, LED interior lights, a proximity key, push button start, heated front seats, front and rear USB ports, and a rear cargo cover to hide all your personal stuff.

Hyundai has given the Kona a new exterior and interior for 2024, complete with a new front end treatment that’s even more dramatic than before. New wheel designs, updated exterior lighting elements, a new wide mouth grille, and front and rear looking skid plates are all new styling features that make the Kona N-Line a great buy in the subcompact SUV class. All from Hyundai, the trailblazer company of Korea’s automobile industry.

To make a Kona an even better buy, every Hyundai comes with America’s best coverage that includes: a 5 year / 60,000 mile new vehicle warranty, a 10 year / 100,000 mile powertrain warranty, a 7 year / unlimited mileage anti-perforation warranty, a 3 year / 36,000 mile maintenance program, and 5 years / unlimited mile roadside assistance. They are included in the purchase of a new 2024 Hyundai, at no extra charge, and all for free.

Hyundai SUV’s are known for their reliability and durability, and all Hyundai’s come with this warranty coverage as standard equipment. This ensures you that your Kona will last for a long time, and that you are covered for expensive repairs for the next 10 years.

Call, click or visit your local Hyundai dealer for a test drive, and a Bottom Line price review, on the 2024 Kona N Line AWD SUV. And remember that the base price for a new Kona starts at only $24,100. Hyundai – New Thinking, New Possibilities.
