Possible freeway shooting on I-80 in Richmond injures person
The hospital contacted the CHP about 8:40 p.m. on Tuesday.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating what they said is a possible freeway shooting after a person walked into a Richmond hospital Tuesday night with a gunshot wound.
The wound did not threaten the person’s life. The agency said the hospital contacted them about 8:40 p.m.
According to CHP officer Andrew Barclay, the person who was shot claimed it came from somewhere on Interstate 80.
The CHP shut down the westbound lanes of the freeway at McBryde Avenue for about an hour, Barclay said. They did not have a description of a suspect or the vehicle that may have been involved.
