The first wave of light rain is expected to end before midnight Friday and a second wave to move in around dawn Saturday.
In the Lake Tahoe area, a winter weather advisory is in effect from 2 p.m. Friday until 11 a.m. Saturday. Three to 8 inches of snow is expected at lake level and 7 to 14 inches above 7,000 feet elevation.
