Foundation holds fundraiser for Cupertino, Sunnyvale schools

‘Spring for Education’ set for April 5.

Spring for Education

The Fremont Union High Schools Foundation, an all-volunteer organization that raises money for programs ranging from STEM to theater arts, will hold its annual “Spring for Education” fundraiser on Friday, April 5, at the Quinlan Community Center in Cupertino.

The doors open at 5 p.m. with student performances, demonstrations and displays, followed by a dinner and auction. Tickets are $95 at https://fuhsfoundation.org/sp4ed2024.

The foundation’s fundraising supports students in the district’s five high schools in the areas of academic enrichment programs, including STEM classes, visual and performing arts, robotics, journalism and athletics; student support services, including a parent resource network, mental health services and online resources; and college and career readiness, including college application assistance, resume writing and job fairs.

Homing in

In an effort to address informal comments from the state Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD), the city of Cupertino has revised the February version of its 2023-31 draft Housing Element. Cupertino submitted a third draft the document to address comments received on the revised second draft from the  HCD in December 2023.

The revised third draft of the Housing Element is available for review on the city’s website at engagecupertino.org/public-documents. HCD’s 45-day review period ends on April 12.

Comments on the document can be submitted via email to housing@cupertino.gov or by mailing or delivering handwritten comments in person to Luke Connolly, assistant director of community development, 10300 Torre Ave, Cupertino, CA 95014.
