County Clamps Properties Over Rates Arrears

The County Government on 23rd August 2018 clamped four properties within the Central Business District over rate arrears totalling Shs12 billion.

The morning operation targeted Chester House, North Eastern Investments, Princely, Wines and Spirits, which owes the county Shs 9,042,158.

Nairobi retained the 2018 KICOSCA 6 games title that ended in Kisii over the weekend. The City had dispatched a contingent of 219 sportsmen and women to represent it in the 18 disciplines that the games offered.

County Annual Development Plan forums kick off in earnest  

The County government on 17th August 2018 held its 6th public participation on County Annual Development Plan forums since exception of devolution in the seventeen sub-counties. The forums, which kicked off at 9 am were well attended by the respective residents with their “need list” to the county administration.  The participatory meetings are geared towards formulation 2019/2020 budget, giving the residents an opportunity to incorporate their priorities for consideration. UN-UNICEF GoodWill ambassador visits Mama Lucy Hospital.

UN- UNICEF  GoodWill ambassador has today visited mama Lucy Kibaki hospital to see the progress of the oxygen plant which was installed by the UNICEF in partnership with the Nairobi county government to aid in saving lives of the newborns and other patients in the hospital.

The oxygen plant supplies oxygen to the newborn unit, pediatric acute room, theatre and Accidents and emergency units.

Nairobi Retains Women's Tug Of War Title at KICOSCA 

Nairobi Women Tug Of War team has retained Kenya Inter-County Sports and Cultural Association(KICOSCA) the tug of war title clinched in 2017 at the Machakos edition of the games.  Nairobi easily tugged off the home team who despite enjoying home ground advantage proved no match for the technically superior city side.

Sonko visits grabbed facilities and vow to reclaim them

Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko 10th August 2018 visited some of the grabbed county facilities and vowed that the County Government will reclaim them.

Speaking to the media at the grounds of the grabbed Gigiri fire station, the Governor assured the business community that has leased the grabbed facilities that the county will be humane adding, " we will not damage or destroy your properties, we want the handover to be seamless"....
