Minister Mukuhi: County's ICT road map on course
The County Minister for ICT & e-Government Ms Emma Muthoni Mukuhi 19th July, 2018 told the County Assembly Energy and ICT Committee that the county has successfully implemented an ICT Road Map which will enhance development of technological systems in the county.
The County ICT boss said the county has successfully constructed the Data Centre at Sh148 million. The Minister added, " the ICT sector will support all county sectors to deliver their mandate by continually auditing systems and consciously embracing technological changes."
The committee chaired by Hon. Osman Adow is meeting at a Hotel in Mombasa with the sector staff for bonding, reviewing and drawing a way forward.
Other successful projects undertaken by the ICT are; Unified Communications, Digitization of 43 revenue streams to enhance revenue collection, establishment of County's Web Portal and E-payment systems.
The county has also procured and installed LAN, WAN and PABX.
The minister in the meantime told the Committee that the County is reviewing the ICT Road map and is set to procure Enterprise Resource Planner (ERP) and implement the Integrated County Revenue System (ICRMS) which stalled due to the winding up of the World's Bank Funding.
Ms. Mukuhi rallied for support from the committee and assured them that the Sector is in high gear driving the county to a Smart City status. The City to Invest, Work and Live In.
The retreat is also attended by 19 County Assembly Members who are members of the committee, County ICT Chief Officer Mr. Peter Mukenya Sub County administrators and directors from the sector amongst other staff.
