Nairobi Retains Women's Tug Of War Title at KICOSCA
Nairobi Women Tug Of War team has retained Kenya Inter-County Sports and Cultural Association(KICOSCA) the tug of war title clinched in 2017 at the Machakos edition of the games. Nairobi easily tugged off the home team who despite enjoying home ground advantage proved no match for the technically superior city side.
The opening ceremony was shortly converted into a harambee to raise resources for track legends from Kisii who include Naftali Temu, Henry Motego among others. A total of Shs800 was raised and will be shared out by the heroines and heroes present at the ceremony.

The game of muscle by the two sides followed immediately after the official opening speech by Cabinet Secretary in charge of Devolution Eugene Wamalwa. CS Wamalwa was feted with a soapstone carving of an elephant. Receiving the gift the CS humorously remarked in his native language "Lirango lie enzofu" literally translated as "The hind limb of the elephant", an honour among the Luhya.
In his opening speech, CS Wamalwa hinted at a possible merger of the KICOSCA games and Bunge Games, adding this would hasten national cohesion.
The CS heaped praise on the host Governor Ongwae for successfully preparing for the games in a record four months. "Hosting national games in only four months is one of the eight wonders of the world," remarked an impressed CS Wamalwa. The CS, in conclusion, remarked devolution is working.
