Most of your first paragraph there could equally be applied to Shorrocks, though, NK. I hope we can keep them both. Did Smithies not mostly play 13 at Academy level? At any rate, that's a different story to playing 13 at senior level, as neither of them are that big.

(Checking, I see the club website has Smithies as 100 kg; I'm surprised he is that heavy)

Fully agree. I think both should be getting minutes a little wider when possible and somebody... Читать дальше...

Hull KR • Wakefield Win Again as Hull KR Go Bottom

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Yes not looking good for next season already, how can they recruit anyone with ambition knowing they would be joining the whipping boys of the league.
As for someone coming to buy the club, who would want to invest at this time, remember Hull city have been up for sale for years, so who is going to invest in a club in such a perilous situation.
Have been supporting Rovers for about 30 years and even though we are all going through difficult times I have never been so disappointed at our form. Читать дальше...

I listened to todays game on Radio Humberside, the commentators were fair in their criticism of HKR and praise of Trinity. They claimed that the recent press reports about Trinity were not as a result of a player's comments but from a "disgruntled former board member" I wonder who that could be !

I would suggest the ex board member is the one that tried to take over another rugby league club, as he went to a well known public school for boys in Wakefield... Читать дальше...

I dunno, I’d be ready to give Edwards the last 10-15 mins if we’re in control of a game. Difficult to predict when that would be though granted.

Myler for me is a FB and then reserve 7 at a pinch. Really don’t see him as a 9 at all. Myler is probably 5th choice behind Leeming, Dwyer, O’Connor, Smith... in fact 9 might be where O’Connor could end up at senior level - great engine, decent pass and solid in D.

Straight out battle between Myler and Walker for FB although Walker will get there in time. Читать дальше...

TBF, some of the criticism is more directed at the club, ie, we shouldn't have signed him in the first place.

his spot as back up to myler?

Well the way Myler is playing at the moment yes. Walker has to improve his link play. Full backs have to be able to create space for the outside backs and at the minute Myler does it better than Walker.

Jack is still young though and will come back. Hes a good player.

There’s just too many unanswered questions at the moment to know how we’ll shape up. We could be sat there bemoaning French, Gildart and Hastings all leaving or on the flip side we could see all three stay with Field coming in as a utility and Tommy moving in to the coaching department. I suspect it may fall somewhere in between. I think French will go, Gildart will do another year, Tommy will play on and we might have a sniff of keeping Hastings but it seems a total 50/50 that one. You are indeed correct about St Peters, but can yourself or anyone explain why the St John Fisher School is no longer as dominant in the schools game as it has been in the past, especially during the period when Sean Edwards was a pupil there.

As for Castleford Academy, it appears that they are doing far better than any school in Wigan judging by the number of teams they have had at each age group and both sexes at the Schools Finals in recent seasons.

We may complain about our refs but with 20 minutes to go I can only say that the refs seem to have a different rule book to the one I'm reading.
There have been at least 3 controversial decisions resulting in try/ no tries.
As well as that there's been a few head high shots and lots of dragging, plus knock ons/ forward passes missed.
Not overly impressed.
