Vs. Scotland (Full Match On YouTube)
Thewlis got player of match and scored 4 tries on wing. Relatively easy tries for him.
Nicholson worked really hard at loose forward. Good stint in middle of field.
Walker ... some nice touches (again as played well v France) including a 20/40.
Longstaff played left second row.

Longstaff played left centre, for England Knights today, and at this stage of his career, maybe Wire should consider playing him there. Читать дальше...

Not sure why we even played this game. Frankly a bit disrespectful to NZ to send out patched up/made up side. The whole thing struck me as cynical attempt to con the fans out of some cash and the lowest crowd of the season shows that the majority saw through it. I go back to 82 in terms of Leeds playing touring... Читать дальше...

Leeds Rhinos • 2022 | RL World Cup

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Having watched the game against Fiji I would have Young and Watkins on the right with probably Bateman and Makinson on the left.
Williams and Sneyd did enough at HB and Batchelor at SR .
No place in the 17 for Tomkins but that won`t happen.

Not the same thing at all. Both left us because of issues with their behaviour. Watts eventually left you with similar issues. Kelly’s time with you was not all sweetness and light either.

You think the two hookers are only decent? It would have been better for you to keep both of them in preference to Houghton.

You forgot to answer the bit about what they helped you to win.

Warrington Wolves • Re: IMG Are Seeking Your Views

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

When i started watching the Wire in the mid sixties , there were the Lancashire & Yorkshire Leagues where games counted towards winning a trophy in your own county & all teams played so many teams from over the hills which formed the main competition. Even the bottom team had the chance of playing the top team with giant killing opportunities bringing the fans into the grounds. To help the game to survive a single division once more would be more inclusive to teams who have been marginalised by "the sky concept ". Читать дальше...

It’s a myth that the Trinity sides of the sixties and seventies were made up of Wakey lads. There were plenty of imports from all over the north.

No they were not, there was one or two from the wider region. Plus three or four imports, no Aussies back then ,they were South Africans. However I would say the majority of the big names in the side were all local lads. In fact many a team would feature over half the players from Wakey.

No team will be or ever has been pure local... Читать дальше...

I’d throw in Byrne too, he’s had another strong season and seems pretty mature for his age.

Peet has some good long term options in the leadership dept.

Not for me yet.

Not saying that he couldn’t be part of that group in the future but 2022 has been a breakthrough season for him after a few years, all be it under a different regime, few years where it looked like his career could go either way.

I’d be more comfortable if he just focused on himself for the next couple of years.

I will take it that your lack of a reply suggests you do not have a reply to the NRL conundrum and why we don’t have the five years you like to think we have.
It would have been better to start with the phrase “in my opinion” especially when you have just suggested it to others but I suppose you believe your opinion is fact because you have been allowed access to the top.

Hang on a minute, when I called Applegarths coaching method basic a few weeks ago and long before he was given the HC job you amongst others went out of your way to criticise me even though much of my post was positive. Now it’s OK to call his coaching basic is it?

By the way Battye isn’t fit to lace Stosics boots, they are in no way similar at all!

I wouldn’t be so sure; not least because I wasn’t even born when Wigan won 27-0. The number of fans who remember drops day by day.

Enjoy your history books, I’m sure someone somewhere remembers Warrington being champions too

Wakefield Trinity • Re: New rumour

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Strange a head coach will leave his position to become an assistant to a head coach who has just moved up from assistant.

If true it could be a good move, he appears to have a good reputation in the game, has a fair bit of experience now and he will likely know the players in the Championship who could perhaps move up a level, crucial for a club who needs to get as much out of the finances it is willing to spend.

I agree, and I think players like Stosic would thrive in this era. He was good for us in 2009 but he’d be a sought after player now. He’s in the mould of current Props. Good completion with little errors, can tackle, keeps going at 100% whatever the scoreboard and can find his front for easy PTB’s.

For all I loved Fifita and would still sign him purely as a game breaker, technically he wasn’t a great prop. A coaches nightmare and dream all in one. Читать дальше...
