London Broncos • Announcements?

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Has anyone been contacted by the club regarding volunteering for roles on matchdays in 2023? Surely the club are busy working behind the scenes to ensure no repeat of the farce that was 2022 matchday experience(lessness).

The club needs to be in discussion with their fans now, not leaving it until 5 minutes before KO in Feb.[/quote]

My take is our planning is in two stages. We plan for the season and then we crisis management it about 3 months in. The former has, to the untrained observer, been highly flawed in recent years. Читать дальше...

Leeds Rhinos • The ONLY LUFC Football Thread

On reflection and listening to others both positive and negative.
I`m thinking JM got the tactics and once again the substitutions wrong.
We`re 3-2 up and we change the system which invited Spurs on to us more.
We brought Ayling on at CH a position he hasn`t played for sometime and we fail to shore up the left side that was getting crucified.
Whilst our defence has been poor for the last couple of weeks It wasn`t helped yesterday by poor decision making from the manager.

In the interview with Cake he says we have offers out on 5 players who appeared in the World Cup. Seems positive but how many will sign and of what quality.

Knowing our recruitment policy, they'll be a couple of Greek Plumbers, a Jamaican postman, an Irish bricklayer and a Scottish cobbler who will be missing his mammies cooking by February.

Hull FC • 2023. Predictions.

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

I'll predict that as I have just had it confirmed that some Rovers fans really do show the majority up some of them will still question it when we say that some of them are subnormal.

Butler signing was announced on 9 May, hardly slightly early. At a guess I would say by then we weren't halfway through the season.

I do agree pretty much, regarding positions though

We also left salary to recruit a player through 2022 and unbelievers that was Butler so for me he was a 2022 signing.

The rest fair enough though Taufua was a direct replacement for Tupou who retired through injury.

I don’t think we are too badly... Читать дальше...

Leeds Rhinos • 2022 | RL World Cup

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

I think there were some dubious team selections.. It seemed to be a typical SW team.. try and bully the opposition, then capitalise on mistakes. Having MM at hooker was a mistake as he gives zero go forward unlike a Roby type player would.. Tomkins as full back i don;t think was the right choice. Pretty average. We just came up with dumb plays. Probably having 3 easy pook games pkus an easy(ish) quarter final did us no favours. It was difficult to see where the team actually was in regards to performance levels.. In the semi... Читать дальше...

Wakefield Trinity • Come on England.

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

It’s all well and good pulling the coach and players to bits after the event , if the drop goal had gone the other way they would have been lauded by all and sundry. Basically a makeshift England squad got knocked out by a team of NRL players by a drop goal . If the likes of Walmsley , Lomax , Newman and a few more had been available who knows .Welsby’s uncharacteristic mistakes aside , the hooking role was a bad choice in hindsight and was targeted from the off. But I’d keep shaun Wayne over and overseas coach any day of the week

Failure to take advantage of 12 men Samoa in the first half, failure to stick to any sort of game plan all did for England.

That said when it looked to be all over England came out all guns blazing when their backs were against the wall. If only they could have shown some of that spirit in the first half.
Not a game for those of a nervous disposition. For the first time ever watching a game I couldn’t watch the conversion in the last minute that levelled the scores. Читать дальше...

By the next WC we'll probably be able to find 12 sides that play at a professional level.
I'd say we have about 8 now, with 4 more that are improving.

I'd be happy to see us go back to a 12 team main draw and a 12 team emerging nations draw, to give teams like Serbia, USA, Canada, Malta, Soloman Islands etc a chance to play.

Yep. Hopefully from a Leeds perspective we'll have Mik, Tom H, Gannon and Newman involved in the near future. It's a damming indictment on the last decade that there are no England regulars in the current team. In terms of halves and hookers our best chance is young players following the likes of Farnworth and Young and going straight to the NRL. Depressing but true.

I fully agree with that. Our best players need to play against better players in the... Читать дальше...

Well, there's Harry Smith. Do you see many other contenders in the halves? Although the result today wasn't really a comment on who had the best half-backs (although they did), it was about, which side played as a team.

He’s not at this level but hopefully he can elevate himself to international standard. A lot of the players who played today will not feature at the next World Cup and therefore Waney will have to look to the next generation.

We were simply not good enough and Australia based on the semi final would have beaten us convincingly.
