The Sin Bin • GDPR - a question (or two)
I have been getting a number of requests for references for contracts recently, which isn't unusual, but with GDPR I am unsure about a few things, I have read the various legislation but can't seem to find answers. I thought The Sin Bin may know or at least have opinions (The Sin Bin, having an opinion, whatever next)
So, when I submit documents and they contain information about other people (ie:Next of Kin, References contact details (Professional, Personal etc.) Bank Details, NI numbers, Passport Numbers etc.) who "owns" that data. Wether I do or don't get the contract can the prospectice client keep ALL of the information from the permission I give, or is that only applicable to "my" information?
When a referee provides a reference about me, and/or my company, do I have a right to see it under a Data Subject Access Request (as it is about me, individually, or a legal entity which I own)?
Not expecting free qualified legal advice, just thoughts and views.
