Re: Editorial: One Punch Does Not Make A Deduction
There are always fools about who will just go one stage further, maybe fuelled by drink/drugs or sheer bravado - it doesn't, and shouldn't, mean that the 99% of decent fans have to suffer for it, although I do understand that it's the club's duty to keep players safe. Actually, it's the fans duty to keep players safe as well, but neither can stop one tithead acting in a moment of madness. It's got to be stamped out, but punish the individual, not the club, unless the club has been grossly negligent, and work to see that security is as efficient as it can be at the ground.
Some of us do inflame the situation though, by ramping up a hate mentality, and being proud of our arrests, etc (and I don't just mean Blues, I mean many clubs) and perhaps shouldn't be surprised that one - just one - person ends up not having the self-control to keep with the limits. I can't say I was impressed with the folks cheering him, but I think that was a 'heat of the moment/drink/occasion' thing, rather than malice. I hope so, anyway.
The Twitterer that posted about Grealish's brother? What a effing moron.
But most of us, the 99%? Good people, good fans, and I'm proud to be supporting the same club.
