25 years ago I bought some decent hi-fi seperates including a Thorens TD318 turntable
The cartridge stylus is Ortofon 520 but it's damaged and needs replacing.
Is it really worth 140 quid to replace the stylus ?
There are lower cost versions from Ortofon at about 60 quid ....
Will 25 year old vynyl really sound very different if I opt for the cheaper version ?
Has been truly horrific no football at all and it's pissed down all day today international weekends are the worse things going.. dreadful.
What has everyone else been doing to get them through it?
Off to the Rugby in a few weeks, anyone been? Recommend places to stay over on the saturday night nearby\short train ride to the ground?

Well done to the young man. However, if he’s going to keep performing like he did yesterday, he’s going to need a LOT of media training.
They played an interview with him on TalkSport this afternoon. He prefaced his reply to every single one of the questions posed to him with “Yeah, no ...”, which made him sound a bit thick to be honest.
I always thought a Supporter was classed as someone who supports the club by attending regularly and supporting the club financially at the same time with purchasing of say season tickets and merchandise. Whereas a fan tends to go occasionally or not at all (for different reasons) but mostly follows their club through social media, news reports TV and radio.
Or do you think it should be the other way around? and a fan follows the club week in week out and a supporter tends to follow from his armchair.

I’d say even the cheaper Ortofon’s would be fine for a home set up. I’d also check out some of the cheaper brands - I saw a review on the new Goldrings a few months back.

Right then, i booked a hotel and flight package through expedia to new york in December (3rd time ive booked the same package with them). I booked and paid in full in Feb whilst the prices were low. There are now rumours on tripadvisor that the hotel is closing on December 1st for renovations until 2021! I emailed the hotel who said to contact the revenue department tomorrow. I can't see why they couldn't just confirm or deny if they plan to close. I called expedia who said they aren't aware of this... Читать дальше...

I lived in Twickenham for ten years. Loved it (apart from the traffic).
You could look at Richmond as a decent place to stay. Just the other side of the river, quite a few reasonably priced hotels and a decent range of pubs and eateries. You'd need to get a cab or a bus to the stadium, but it's only a couple of miles, so no big deal. in fact, you could quite easily walk from Richmond town centre to the ground, going vis St Margarets and the footbridge they used in the opening credits of Minder.

Geographically perhaps - culturally, no.
Won 2-1 against Ebbsfleet in front of 1500 at home to close in on top of the league through Luke Maxwell's winner.
Tim Flowers doing a very good job with Darren Carter hardly wasting a pass.
