We were reminiscing last night about ex Birmingham sports stars (other than football) that we liked when we were kids.

I got to know her a little bit later in life, when I was playing squash at Edgbaston Priory. She always seemed OK, but maybe she'd mellowed with age.
Another tennis story - when I was playing for Solihull Arden, Jeremy Bates was a member there. He'd been a member since he was a tiny kid, so everyone had watched him grow up and develop into a Wimbledon Champion.
