World Rallycross ( my favoured motorsport ) have a randomised spinner that decides between qualifying rounds if the grids are flipped.
Though WRX qualifying is the complete opposite to F1's qualifying.
WRX, usually, has 4 qualifying sessions with 4/5 drivers out at once racing trying to set the fastest overall time (in essence they're racing but not attempting to slow others down or hold people back as that would affect their overall time)

Not sure how seriously they are considering this but is potentially positive news if it opens up the possibility of full-ish stadiums by November. Clearly economically driven to boost the big cities where grounds and theatre venues are located but I'm not sure how this will square with the idea of keeping infection rates down to be honest.
