we saw some curious odd lights in the sky, from Stoke onwards
like searchlights but not originating from the ground
a series of lights so not likely to be aeroplanes either
a google search indicates others have seen this also in recent weeks, any observers out there amongst the SHA glitterati?

They did but the rules seem to be to allow the stewards to do what they think is right. They don't have to let lapped cars through but they can - in this instance, they decided to allow the title fight to finish under green instead of under a safety car. They could have let the rest of the cars through as well and it wouldn't have changed the result.
Obviously Mercedes will appeal this now and we'll see what happens over the next few weeks.

Yesterday, we sat in Block 5 of the GMU, having bought the tickets a few weeks ago as soon as they went on sale.
At 2.55pm a dad and his young lad came along and told us we were in their seats. They'd bought half season tickets just the day before. We compared tickets, and sure enough the seat numbers were identical! Luckily there were plenty of spare seats and they very kindly wandered off to sit somewhere else, as there were four in our group all together.
