Every championship side has now played one game so here are a few early thoughts based on what has happened this weekend.
The teams that came down obviously have top players but its not going to be a walk in the park for em nor a straight shootout between those teams for the top 3 places. They all conceded and Leeds were very fortunate to avoid defeat.
2 of the 3 teams that came up look to have adapted fairly well and Plymouth look like they have done well with the personnel at the top of the pitch.
Its all about scoring goals and in the first weekend only 2 teams failed to hit the back of the net so sitting deep just aint going to cut it.
Rotherham, QPR and Huddersfield find themselves at the bottom and they were 3 of the 5 teams I fully expect to be there come May.
Added time. Almost every game took over 2 hours from KO to FT so anyone leaving with 5 - 10 mins of the 90 to go could well miss 15 -20 mins of the game. In fact only 2 of all the 35 EFL games only 2 had a game time of less than 100 mins.
Contact sport looks like it has made a comeback as refs are allowing a far more physical game and I am hoping that it lasts rather than just a week one wonder.
As for Blues ignoring all of the off field stuff that we are all delighted about I thought it was a very good away point and look forward to seeing us get better as the season moves forward.
