Talladega was a ratings bust. Talladega. For fans who follow the sport, those four Stewart-Haas cars up front, doing what they had to do all day long, was something to behold. For those who simply tune in to watch incredible action, they had to wait for the final 20 laps for the payoff. However, they had to have tuned in to witness either. They did not even bother. That is troublesome.
Bubba Wallace continues to make national headlines in his rookie season in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series driving the famed No. 43 for Richard Petty Motorsports. Wallace Jr. was recently named to the EBONY Power 100 list published by EBONY Magazine. Wallace Jr. was listed as an "MVP" and joined other athletes such as Antonio Brown, Stephen Curry, Venus Williams as well as former President and First Lady Barack and Michelle Obama on the prestigious list.
Richard Childress Racing at Kansas Speedway ... In 78 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series starts at Kansas Speedway, Richard Childress Racing has one win, visiting victory lane in 2013 with Kevin Harvick, among five top-five and 22 top-10 finishes.
“It will be nice to go to a track that I have been to before, obviously that shortens the learning curve since practice is limited in the Xfinity Series. We will have two 50-minute practice sessions so it will be very crucial to get up to speed and get to work on our No. 60 Ford. With my past experience at Kansas, hopefully we can capitalize this weekend and have a strong run in our No. 60 Ford.”

With the Nos. 7 and 20 having a strong playoff points lead, we’ve got to get top fives and hopefully a win this round. News and notes: After a much needed off weekend Spencer Boyd and his Grunt Style Chevrolet Camaro Team will resume racing action this weekend at Kansas Speedway. Growing up in St. Louis, MO, Kansas will be a home coming race for Boyd. “I really enjoyed a bit of downtime this past weekend, but I'm ready to be back at the race track,” says Boyd. “Since the Xfinity Series doesn't go to Gateway, Kansas is sort of considered my home track. The No. 5 Pilot Flying J Chevrolet Camaro from JR Motorsports and driven by Michael Annett will incorporate America's stars and stripes in its livery during NASCAR Xfinity Series races at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday, Nov. 3, ISM Raceway on Saturday, Nov. 10 and Homestead-Miami Speedway on Saturday, Nov. 17 in honor of Veterans Day.
Martin Truex Jr.’s last two finishes have been somewhat concerning for the Furniture Row Racing driver, who finds himself in the perilous eighth-place bubble position for advancing to the next playoff round.
Gallagher and the No. 23 team will utilize chassis no. 221. This chassis has been raced three times this year at Charlotte Motor Speedway by Chase Elliott (start: 6th/finish: 37th), at Chicagoland Speedway by Chase Elliott (start: 9th/finish: 10th) and at Las Vegas Motor Speedway by Spencer Gallagher (start: 14th/finish: 10th).
Chase Elliott on racing at Kansas: “Over my first couple of years competing in the Cup Series, we have had a couple of really good runs there. We have struggled there at times as well, but when we have hit it and we have been good. I feel like we have had good runs there. I think we can certainly have a good run there this time around. So, yeah, I’m looking forward to this one.”
The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series resumed action this past weekend at the biggest track on NASCAR's schedule, Talladega Superspeedway. It featured the 19th race of the season and the final race in the Round of 8.
