Boyd Finishes Out Rookie Campaign at Homestead-Miami

The NASCAR Xfinity Series wrapped up their final race of the 2018 season this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway. With everything on the line for the final four the action was sure to be at an all time high. After a season of many firsts, Boyd was ready to wrap up his first full-time NASCAR campaign.

In addition, Team Penske secured the Owner’s Championship and Ford Motor Company claimed the Manufacturers’ Championship title. The drivers’ championship is Ford’s ninth overall and sixth in the modern era (1972-present).

Joey Logano began his quest for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Championship Sunday afternoon from the fifth position in the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford Fusion in the Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Logano topped the speed charts in both of Saturday’s practice sessions, and carried the speed into the early laps of the race. Logano moved into the third position by lap 4, all while battling a tight handling Shell-Pennzoil Ford.

In the season finale of the 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) season at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. drove his Fastenal Ford to a 16th- place finish despite battling an ill-handling machine. In 2018, Stenhouse scored three top-five and five top-10 finishes.
