Behind the Numbers: Daytona International Speedway to Deliver One of the Largest Fireworks Shows in the Southeast at the Coke Zero Sugar 400

There will be plenty of fireworks on the track and in the sky at Daytona International Speedway for the 61st annual Coke Zero Sugar 400 on Saturday, July 6. The stars of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series will be doing battle door-to-door on the 2.5-mile tri-oval while Fireworks By Santore will deliver one of the largest fireworks shows in the Southeast following the checkered flag.

Martin Truex, Jr. Wins Back-to-Back at Sonoma

Martin Truex, Jr. defended his 2018 win at Sonoma with another dominating performance. He led nearly two-thirds of the laps and beat second place Kyle Busch by about a second.

Weekend schedule for Chicagoland

This weekend NASCAR heads to Chicagoland Speedway. The Gander Outdoors Truck Series starts off the tripleheader on Friday night with the Camping World 225 followed by the Xfinity Series Camping World 300 Saturday afternoon. The Monster Energy Cup Series Camping World 400 will close out the weekend activities with the Camping World 400, Sunday at 3 p.m.

Kyle Larson, coming off a pole start and 10th-place finish on the Sonoma Raceway road course, leads active Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series drivers with an average finish of 7.0 at Chicagoland Speedway. Larson, driver of the No. 42 McDonald’s Camaro ZL1, has three top-five and four top-10 finishes -- with a best of second on July 1, 2018 -- in five career starts.

"We’re heading to Chicagoland Speedway this weekend. We’ve got two cars – the No. 10 and No. 11, with teammate, Ross Chastain, who just came off a win. We’ve had really fast mile-and-a-half cars and we had speed at Iowa last race. Hopefully we can catch another Top-5 and maybe go for the win."
