Sunday’s regular-season finale for the Brickyard 400 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) event was nothing short of drama-filled action as 16 contenders moved on to the postseason playoffs, leaving a few drivers on the outside looking in. Most notably, seven-time champion Jimmie Johnson. And, for those 16 drivers, there is no easy resting knowing that Talladega Superspeedway’s “wild card” 1000Bulbs.com 500, the second race (of three) in the Round of 12 (Oct. 13), is looming in the distance.

Team Penske inducted two long-time team leaders and executives into the Team Penske Hall of Fame this morning, as former Penske Racing South President Don Miller and Dan Luginbuhl, one of the pioneers of motorsports marketing and public relations, were honored in a special ceremony at the team’s Mooresville, North Carolina facility.

Bowyer, Newman make 2019 playoffs

Bowyer came into the Indy race facing the possibility of elimination but the Stewart-Haas Racing driver clinched a spot with a fifth-place finish.

Kevin Harvick was the big winner at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, winning the Brickyard 400. This was Harvick’s third win of the season and Stewart-Haas Racing’s 54th overall Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series win. In addition, this marked Ford’s second win in a row at the Brickyard (Brad Keselowski 2018).

Logano falls short at Indy

It was a good effort for Joey Logano and his No. 22 crew but they fell a little short of scoring that elusive win at Indianapolis.

Harvick dominates at Indy

Kevin Harvick won the 26th annual Big Machine Vodka 400 at the Brickyard on Sunday. He dominated the race leading all but 42 laps en route to his second victory at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the 48th of his career.
