Exhibit explores Minnesotans' ties to Armenians' tragic past

A St. Paul church is launching a unusual project to keep alive the memory of 1.5 million Armenians killed a century ago. It features an exhibit of ordinary belongings from the extraordinary people who survived the so called "hidden holocaust" , and who made their way to Minnesota in the 1920s.

Vikings draft Arkansas defensive tackle with first of three sixth-round picks

The Vikings drafted defensive tackle Armon Watts out of Arkansas with the first of three sixth-round picks on Saturday. Watts (6-5, 300 pounds) took a couple years to earn a role for the Razorbacks, but once he did he ascended. A one-year starter last fall, Watts amassed 8.5 tackles for a loss, seven sacks and three forced fumbles. He was taken with the 190th-overall pick. Jets take Gophers linebacker Blake Cashman in fifth round

Blake Cashman started his Gophers career as a walk-on from Eden Prairie; Defensive back Amani Hooker from Park Center and Eden Prairie linebacker Ryan Connelly were also selected on Saturday.



Vikings trade back in fifth round, draft first defender in USC linebacker

The Vikings turned back to defense on Saturday with its fifth pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Linebacker Cameron Smith was selected in the fifth round (162nd overall) to give the Vikings defense some depth in the middle. General manager Rick Spielman traded back three spots, acquiring a seventh-round pick (237th overall) from the Patriots in the process, before picking Smith. Vikings draft another offensive lineman to start NFL Draft's fourth round

The Vikings drafted another offensive lineman on Saturday in former Oklahoma guard/tackle Dru Samia. Samia (6-5, 305 pounds) was selected with the 114th-overall pick in the fourth round, making him the second offensive lineman drafted within the Vikings' first four picks. Center Garrett Bradbury was taken with the 18th-overall pick on Thursday night.
