I got dress-coded at a Miami restaurant – I was carrying a $1,760 designer bag but they turned me away at the door
A WOMAN has complained that she was dress-coded at a Miami restaurant for being “too casual,” though she thinks they were wrong.
She wore high heels and carried a luxury designer bag worth almost $2,000 but was still turned away at the door.
Digital creator The Socialite Files (@thesocialitefiles) is all about lifestyle, luxury, and leisure.
She loves the finer things in life and doesn’t mind sharing it, but things don’t always go her way.
In a TikTok video, she shared with her viewers how she was dress-coded at the popular restaurant Queen in Miami.
Wearing a green tie-dye shirt with her face makeup-free, she explained the situation and also documented the look in another TikTok video.
Her male friend and she decided to try out the scene after it was suggested by the TikTok user’s parents.
She wore a white linen top and off-white linen pants that accentuated her curvy body, her Louis Vuitton Alma BB in tow, worth $1,760, and heels.
Her plus-one wore a button-down shirt, slacks, and nice shoes.
They assumed their styles both fit the wardrobe requirement but were told their attire was too casual for the venue.
Upon arrival, the duo was asked for a reservation, although according to her, her parents knew one of the managers at the food establishment and texted someone.
According to her, the bouncer at the door said, “You’re too casually dressed to come in here and that manager should have told you that before you came.”
He also said that her male companion should have been wearing a jacket or sport coat.
“The crowd that they’re letting in is an older crowd. Also, there’s a guy behind the rope just wearing underwear,” she added.
She emphasized her annoyance by the end of the video by stating that she “didn’t have to come” to the location.
As a follow-up, she mentioned in the caption that they decided to have dinner at Carbone instead and their fashion choices were fine.
Many people came to her defense in the comment section of the video.
“‘Too casual” and ‘in Florida’ are completely incompatible clauses,” a viewer commented.
“No interest in going to Queen. Everything about it screams tacky, starting with the name. Although the Paris Theatre is gorgeous. Lots of good times there,” another added.
“Their reviews are too horrid for them to act so entitled,” a fan chimed in.
