We’re a family of three and did a food shop in Morrison’s, I feel robbed – I spent £100 and didn’t even get dinners
A MUM was left stunned after doing a £100 food shop in Morrisons.
Chelsea McHodg, a mum-of-one from the UK, shared her food haul in a TikTok video claiming she felt ‘robbed.’
The price of food has skyrocketed in the past year according to the Office of National Statistics and Chelsea certainly felt the increase when doing a top-up food shop.
Taking to her TikTok account @chels_mchodg, she said: “I’ve just been robbed by Morrisons.
“I’m not joking.
“I’ve literally got hardly nothing and I spent £100.”
The mum added that the £100 she spent didn’t even include inners as she had already purchased a Hello Fresh kit.
Chelsea showed off her haul which included lots of snack items including bbq sausage rolls, chicken satay sticks, cocktail sausages, ham, and cheese.
She also bagged a few treats for the cupboard – chocolate mini rolls, mini Oreos, mermaid cake rolls, Fudge cake bars, some wet wipes, and Dettol wipes.
The mum also grabbed her daughter some healthier snacks including five packs of fruit wiggles, two packs of smoothie melts, and two packs of Bear Paw snacks.
For the adults, Chelsea picked up some crumpets, Brussels pate, salami, breadsticks, butter, cream crackers, salami, Boursin cheese, a platter of Italian food, chicken drumsticks, and two packets of bacon.
Finally, Chelsea picked up oranges, apples, strawberries, Pepsi Max cherry, Lucozade, orange juice, milk, Schloer, kitchen foil, cling film, body wash, and cleaning products.
Although Chelsea picked up lots of snacks and home essentials, she clearly didn’t think it was worth the £100 price tag – and she wasn’t the only one.
Her video soon went viral with over 288k views and over 13k likes.
People quickly took to the comments section to share their thoughts, with many agreeing that Morrison’s had become pricey.
One person wrote: “Morrisons is soooo expensive now!”
Another commented: “I’ve stopped shopping there I go to Asda now Morrisons just too expensive now.”
“Yeah I’m gonna give Asda a go,” replied Chelsea.
Others claimed the food shop cost more because Chelsea went for branded items over own-brand ones.
“It’s expensive cos a lot of it is branded stuff,” penned a third.
Meanwhile, a fourth added: “It may be because of the branded foods you have bought maybe try buying the home brand ones.”
Someone else claimed: “It’s all branded so its decent for £100.”
