I get mum-shamed for not showing my ‘sad beige baby’ colours – I don’t see the problem, there’s none in the house anyway
MANY parents are picking neutral toys for their kids so that it matches the aesthetic of their home.
But one mum has been slammed for not showing her daughter any colours.
Taking to TikTok, Nikki Rubles hit back at trolls, writing: “Teaching colours to my sad beige baby.”
In the clip she posted to her account @nikkiruble, she showed stacking toys in neutral colours.
Stacking them up she announced each colour of the block to her daughter in a comical video.
“Ivory, blush, smoky grey, powdered blue, sage, beige, copper, and mauve,” she listed.
“Gotta make sure she knows her colours,” she captioned the post.
Plenty of people took to the comments section claiming the mum needs to introduce more colours to her daughter.
One penned: “She’s not going to know what yellow and pink and green are.”
But the mum said it didn’t matter anyway as they weren’t colours you’d find in the house.
“That’s okay. Those aren’t necessary in our aesthetic,” she penned.
The clip has since gone viral with over one million views and over 135k likes.
Many people took to the comments to share their thoughts on the mum’s parenting style.
One person wrote: “Babies need colours to develop correctly, those colours don’t give enough stimulation.”
Another commented: “Pretty sad colours.”
“It’s so dullllllll,” penned a third.
Meanwhile, a fourth said: “Grey, another grey, another grey, yet another grey.”
Someone else added: “I mean, I love it.”
“Love this,” claimed a sixth.
