I’m trying to save money all the time & have only just realised how women can get tampons for free every month from Lidl
GETTING your period is stressful enough as it is without having to worry about forking out a fiver or more to get your monthly sanitary products.
But this concern may be a thing of the past as one woman has discovered a nifty hack to get tampons for free once a month.
Shannon Mitch couldn’t help but investigate after one person commented on another one of her videos, explaining: “They [tampons] are free with the lidl app”. [sic]
After figuring out what the user meant, the blonde beauty returned to her TikTok account to reveal the secret hack for everyone to use.
“Thank you to this comment, you have opened my eyes,” she said.
Dressed in a pink fluffy hoodie, she continued: “I just realised something that happened earlier.
“So I posted a video there about saving money. Lidl are doing tampons for 69p, which is incredible… More than half the price of a normal Tampax tampon.”
Shannon then said the person who left the comment was “right”, as she shared: “Basically, when I was in Lidl earlier and I was buying this stuff. The girl was like to me, ‘Are you using the app today?’
“I assumed it was a clubcard thing, you know like Tesco. I quite like using the app for points. But this is what she must’ve been asking.
“She must have been asking like am I getting one of the boxes free with the app.”
Shannon then looked into it herself and discovered that this is actually a real feature you can get with the app.
“You can get a free box of sanitary products a month using the app, which is incredible,” she said.
The woman added that every brand and shop should take note from Lidl and do the same as “this is the way it should be”.
People were beyond appreciative of Shannon’s video as one person wrote: “Thank you so much for this. I had no clue about this”.
Another said: “Omg! Had no clue either!! Finally getting somewhere in the world!!”
While a third said: “I didn’t know this thank you. Xx”.
Others said this deal is solely in Northern Ireland currently, while some said sanitary products are completely free in Scotland.
