Britain’s Got Talent hit by Ofcom complaints from fans furious over ‘dangerous’ act
BRITAIN’S Got Talent fans have furiously complained to Ofcom after the ITV show aired a “dangerous” stunt involving Amanda Holden.
Even Simon Cowell argued it was the most “disgusting” act in the show’s 16-year history.
Massage therapist Andrew Stanton “traumatised” viewers by forcing a huge sword down his throat.
In a ghastly twist, Andrew attached two ropes onto a belt on Amanda‘s waist before hooking the ends onto his eyeballs and picking up the judge.
Paramedics were on standby as the hopeful act did everything he could to shock and impress during the nail-biting audition.
Terrified Amanda, 52, said she was too scared to keep her eyes open as she was lifted into the air.
Worried viewers got in touch with Ofcom to moan about what they’d witnessed.
The telly regulator has since confirmed it got 83 complaints.
Reflecting on the act, Amanda told Andrew: “I only saw the first part of your act because believe me I had my eyes shut for the rest of it.
“I have been doing this show for 16 years and we have never seen anything like it.”
Simon added: “I say this as a compliment – it was the most disgusting thing in the history of Got Talent.”
After receiving four yeses, host Declan Donnelly, 47, said: “I talked to one of the guys backstage who said this is one of the most dangerous things we have ever had on Britain’s Got Talent.”
Those watching at home were equally as disgusted, with one person writing: “L’ill bit traumatised by #BGT if I’m honest.”
A second said: “That guy made me feel physically sick, don’t think it’s appropriate at all #BGT”
While a third added:” #BGT going way too far, that sword act wasn’t talent, felt physically sick and had to pause so I could fast forward , gross out TV.”
