I transformed my neglected garden with black paint – people told me not to do it but I’m so glad I didn’t listen
A YOUNG woman transforming her garden has hit back at trolls who tried to put her off painting her fences black.
Keeley Morris described the outside area as “neglected” and has made it her mission to give it a new lease of life.
But the content creator, who posts under Rae’s Garden Transformation, has found herself justifying her choices.
Sharing herself painting her fences black in a TikTok video, she said: “Day 27 of transforming my neglected garden.
“Today I started painting the fences.
“And I can honestly say that I’m so glad I didn’t listen to everybody telling me not to paint them black because I absolutely love them.”
Trolls suggested she would ruin her neighbours’ fences if the black paint bled through and it would turn her garden into a “sun trap”.
Keeley cleared up: “I’m aware that this paint could bleed through to next door’s side of the fence.
“So I did speak to them first.
“I told them the colour that I’m going to be painting and they were fine for me to go ahead with it.”
She added that she knows “that black attracts the sun” and “any bird mess on there will be more visible” but liked the look of black fences enough to suffer any issues.
Fans of Keeley’s candid garden transformation series jumped to her defence in the comments.
One penned: “You shouldn’t have to justify anything.
“It’s your garden.
“Keep up the great work.”
Another said: “I painted mine black few weeks ago.
“Best thing I did.”
A third gushed: “Looks a million times better!
“I would have chosen black as well.
“Keep up the great work. Can’t wait to see it all finished!”
