I’m mum to a family of four and Co-op has the best deal for a lazy dinner – it only costs £5 & you’ll have leftovers too
A MUM has shared how she’d bagged a Co-op dinner deal that feeds her entire family for just £5.
And she said her trick – made to fight back against the cost of living crisis – not only gets her and her kids dinner and dessert, but there’s enough for leftovers on another day too.
TikTok user Real Mums Club has been sharing her top tips to bag great deals on food after noticing how “astronomical” prices had become for her family of four.
As part of her social media series, posted on her profile @realmumsclub, she’s unveiling different deals and offers you can take advantage of in different supermarkets.
And the latest high street store she’s shone her spotlight on is none other than Co-op.
Real Mums Club explained that the supermarket currently has an offer where you can get a fish and chip dinner, plus dessert, for a fiver and save yourself £7.
Revealing all in her latest TikTok video, Real Mums Club filmed herself on a trip to her local shop.
While browsing the aisles, she captured the “members only” deal, which offers customers five frozen items for £5.
She said: “There’s a really good deal that I’ve just got to tell you about.
“Pop down to your local Co-op and you can get all of this for just £5, including some Solero ice lollies, a pack of battered fish, some fish fingers for the kids, peas, and some oven chips – delicious!
“But you do need to be part of the Co-op deal to get it even cheaper at £5, otherwise it’s £6.”
The mum then showed her basket and it looked like there would be plenty spare so that it would feed the family for more than one evening.
And the social media influencer, who says she shares the “real” and “honest” side of motherhood, said that she was thrilled with her cheap food items, as it created the perfect lazy dinner.
She explained: “Such a good buy for such a quick and easy dinner option.”
Her 5000 plus followers were also super impressed with the frozen dinner deal and said they would be trying it out in the future.
One person pointed out: “This is a good one to be fair.”
This comes after the TikToker previously opened up about how she was adopting new money-saving ways when it came to her weekly food shop.
In a previous video, she explained: “Let’s talk [about the] cost of living crisis. How expensive is food now?
“I’m trying to make a few small changes on how to save money on my groceries and I thought I’d share them with you.”
Her tips have included everything from buying ingredients you always need in bulk and storing them in the freezer to checking out Aldi’s special buys aisle.
