Family of Brit women shot dead by Hamas terrorists say ‘everyone can sleep safer’ after suspects killed
THE family of three women shot dead by terrorists have said everyone can “sleep safer in their beds tonight” after the suspects were killed.
Lucy Dee, 48, and daughters Maia, 20, and Rina, 15, were murdered in Israel last month.
They were heading to the Sea of Galilee for a holiday when their car was sprayed with bullets by suspected Palestinian terrorists.
The sisters, who held joint British-Israeli citizenship, perished in the attack and Lucy later died in hospital.
Yesterday it was reported that Israeli troops had killed three Hamas militants wanted over the attack.
Widowed Rabbi Leo Dee said: “We were tremendously comforted by the thought they were apprehended and eliminated and that everybody in the western world can effectively sleep safer in their beds tonight.
“The Israeli army has done a tremendous kindness by taking out two people who could theoretically bomb New York, London, Paris, Tel Aviv, and kill many more innocent civilians.”
Rabbi Dee has previously said he does not hold any hatred towards his wife and daughters’ killers, adding: “The Israeli security forces will do what they usually do, which is track them down and bring them to justice.”
Counter-terror forces entered the West Bank city of Nablus before storming the gunmen’s apartment as dawn broke.
The Times of Israel said the team surrounded the hideout then used a shoulder-launched missile drone to flush out the men.
Two militants were identified as Hassan Katnani and Maed Mitsri.
The third man, a reported senior operative in the group, was named as Ibrahim Hura.
A civilian bystander, Ziad Shuviri, was said to have been killed in the operation.
Crowds were later seen carrying one of the dead through the city to a funeral.
