People are mind-blown after learning that you can cook scrambled eggs in boiling water – but would you try it?
FOLLOWING a night of coronation celebrations it’s fair to say that a few of us will have woken up this morning with a hankering for a decent breakfast.
And scrambled eggs are just the ticket.
However, before you reach for the hob or even the microwave you might want to read this first as one cooking guru has revealed you can whip them up with the help of the kettle.
Azure MacCannell, who shares her cooking tips on her TikTok account, revealed her unusual method for the perfect scramble.
Captioning the video, Azure wrote: “I was today years old when I learned you can cook scrambled eggs in boiling water.”
In the clip the home cook is seen whisking a dozen eggs before adding them to a pan of boiling water.
Upon entering the pan the eggs appear to change colour and cook instantly whiling sitting on the top of the water.
The final result on the plate looked cooked to perfection with a creamy texture no different from your typical scramble.
Azure said that it was a healthy alternative to a traditional method of cooking them, adding, “Ita like poached eggs collided with egg drop soup!
“Oil/butter free scrambled eggs! Would you eat it?”
The video has since gone viral, amassing over five million views and it’s fair to say that the unusual method has divided opinion.
Commenting on the video, one wrote: “Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.”
“Yeah I think I will stick to the microwave,” agreed another.
Meanwhile a third wrote, “You can make scrambled eggs in 15 seconds, yet you decide to cook the water for 15 MINUTES to then eat unsalted watery eggs.”
However, several others pointed out that it was a similar method of cooking eggs seen in the Chinese dish egg drop soup.
