Cop’s son, 13, avoids jail for trying to rape women while in school uniform after telling them ‘everyone has sex’
A POLICE officer’s 13-year-old son has avoided jail for attempting to rape women and attacking others while in his school uniform.
The schoolboy, who can’t legally be named, preyed on his victims as they walked on a secluded footpath home from college.
He attempted to rape two women, telling one: “Everyone has sex”.
The youngster also sexually assaulted lone women from behind as he carried out the sickening abuse in Telford, Shropshire.
But he avoided jail when he was sentenced for seven sexual assaults and two attempted rapes against four victims in total.
He was instead handed a 30-month youth rehabilitation order at Shrewsbury Crown Court.
Judge Anthony Lowe said the boy would have received a maximum nine-year sentence if he was an adult.
Sentencing, he added: “You are old enough to understand that behaviour has consequences and what you did was very bad.”
The court was told the teen attacked his first victim when she was aged 17.
He groped her as she walked alone before smiling “crudely” and running off.
The boy then returned and asked for a hug before he began attempting to touch her again.
Three other attacks took place in the same area of Telford in January over the space of three days.
He first groped a 16-year-old girl before shoving her to the ground and straddling her.
The teen fiend told her he wanted to have sex with her and tried to remove her hand as she protected herself.
The following day, he targeted a woman from behind – later claiming to police he had tripped on his shoelace.
His final attack with on a 17-year-old girl as she walked home from college alone.
He was passing the student on a footpath when he grabbed her from behind and kissed her cheek.
The terrified victim said he was “becoming rougher and more aggressive” – eventually putting her in a headlock as he tried to pull her leggings down.
In victim impact statements, the women said they were now scared to walk anywhere alone.
One told how she is “constantly” checking behind her when she walks, while another now wears “joggers or big jumpers” after ditching her “cute” outfits.
After he was arrested, the boy claimed it was a case of mistaken identity.
He later said his attacks were driven by anger and low mood, rather than for sexual gratification.
Detective Sergeant Chris Henry, of West Mercia Police, said after the case “I would like to thank the victims for their bravery in giving evidence to the court.
“Thankfully attacks such as these are rare but women everywhere can take reassurance from the fact that we will not hesitate to act when they do.”
