I’m an interior designer & my bargain hack makes your garden look lush in seconds – it needs zero maintenance too
AN INTERIOR designer has shared her clever trick to making your garden look incredible without spending a lot of money or time taking care of plants.
Gilla Leigh explained that it’s her “most popular landscape hack” that works a treat for busy homeowners who just want to give their outdoor space a facelift.
Taking two fake long grass piles attached to a small stick out of a plastic bag, she lip synced to a voiceover that said: “Nobody is going to know”.
The indication is that no one would be able to tell the difference between a fake and the real thing.
@gillaleighhome.designs then stuck the grass features into the soil before moving backwards to show off what it looks like.
“Thisnis my most poplilas landscape hack.” she wrote in the caption of the TikTok clip.
And viewers were left impressed by the clever hack with many flocking to the comments section to share their thoughts.
One person wrote: “Gonna put some of these around my balcony & spray some citronella or peppermint oil on them to keep mosquitoes away,” [sic] to which Gilla replied: “Great idea”.
Another said: “I’ve been doing this for 3 yrs now and love it. Spray clear coat sealant”.
A third asked: “What is that thing called,” to which Gilla responded: “Monkey grass”.
“I donno maybe when they start to rot and going mouldy?” [sic] another questioned.
Gilla explained that they “last all summer” and if they do get dirty, it’s easy to simply buy another for cheap.
Others shared their experience with using the same tricks as one said: “My aunt did this with flowers. It became obvious in 2 feet of snow and they were all still in full bloom!” followed by a laughing emoji.
Another confessed: “I water mine b/c…well, neighbors.” [sic]
While a third added: “my neighbour does this and we all know.” [sic] to which Gilla responded: “My dad is an adamant gardener and has been his whole life. He had no idea these were fake.”
