I’m an interiors pro and have mastered the trick to make any small room look bigger – it’s cheaper when redecorating too
AN interiors pro has lifted the lid on her simple but effective trick for making small rooms look bigger.
And it’s so easy to do that anyone can achieve the same outcome if they follow her easy rule.
Social media user Abbey explained that she wanted to open up the space in her DIY home so she decided to think up a way of changing things up.
Her solution? Grab a tin of paint.
That’s because Abbey said if you paint your ceiling the same colour as your walls will have immediate results – and you’ll save money as you only need one pot of your chosen shade, as opposed to two different colours.
Abbey, who is on TikTok under the name Casa Crank aka @casacrank, took to her profile to explain further.
Alongside a video of her bathroom, she wrote: “Did you know…
“Painting your ceiling the same colour as your walls will draw the eye up, which creates the illusion of a larger room and higher ceilings.”
Abbey added: “This is such a good tip for smaller rooms and homes!!”
And she also revealed there was an extra benefit behind her idea, as she added that it’s so much easier to paint when you’re not worrying about getting the straight line at the top of the wall.
She said: “Plus less cutting in.”
Abbey then shared a video of the transformation in her home to show her hack in action.
In it, her 55.3k followers saw how she’d opened up the space of her green bathroom by adding the same shade to the top of the room.
And everyone agreed that it worked a treat.
One social media user said: “Well I love it.
“The theory is correct with its tiny, small or smaller.”
A second TikToker added: “I did this as well, love it!”
Meanwhile, others were equally impressed as they described it as “perfect.”
While another person added: “I’m obsessed!”
And answering those who said the bathroom didn’t look like it was on the small side, Abbey replied: “The paint must be working because this bathroom is small.”
