Rylan Clark in ‘feud’ with mystery TV star as he claims the ‘tide is turning’ on two-faced presenters
RYLAN Clark has hinted at a secret feud with ‘two-faced’ TV stars.
The popular presenter, who has hosted some of the biggest shows on television since competing in the X Factor 11 years ago, took aim at the unnamed personalities in a new interview with Waitrose & Partners’ Weekend.
Rylan, 34, said: “People can see through it all now. People can see who are the real ones and can very much see who isn’t.
“I’ve been in this industry for nearly 11 years, and all I’ve ever been is nice and polite to people.”
“And that’s starting to pay off for me now, because there are people in this industry who aren’t like that. They think they’re something special. And the walls are starting to fall.”
The Essex-born star’s list of TV credits is long including Big Brother’s Bit On The Side, Strictly’s It Takes Two, The Xtra Factor and This Morning, on the day when Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were off air.
He also hosts a Radio 2 show and is covering this weekend’s Eurovision Song Contest.
He has never forgotten or shied away from his X Factor beginnings though.
Last week he shared a snap with his show mentor Nicole Scherzinger to commemorate 11 years since she said “yes” to him on the show.
In 2012, as Rylan sat down with Nicole in judges’ houses to learn his fate on the show, the emotional wannabe could barely keep it together.
When she told him he was through, the star fell to the floor in the most dramatic fashion, pulling a wonderful ugly cry face as he struggled to breathe through his tears.
After thinking it was a wind up, the star then buried his face into a pillow as dramatic music played.
In his 2019 autobiography, The Life Of Rylan, the TV star poked fun at his legendary meltdown.
“No one could control me,” he admitted. “Genuine fear covered [Nicole’s] face.”
“At one point I think Nicole even asked if there was a paramedic because she thought I was having a fit. After a while I realised I needed to assure everyone I was just so shocked and not indeed dying on the spot.”
