Woman, 25, arrested for ‘murder’ after female victim found dead in home by cops
A 25-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of a woman in her 40s was found in a house.
Police and paramedics rushed to the property in Petersfield, Hants., on Tuesday evening after concerns were raised.
A cordon was thrown up around the scene in Station Road, Petersfield and a team from the Hampshire Constabulary Major Crime Team was briefed.
A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary confirmed that a 25-year-old woman had been arrested on suspicion of murder a nd was detained in police cells.
“An investigation has been launched following the death of a woman in Petersfield.
“We were called just before 8pm on Tuesday to an address on Station Road.
“On attendance police discovered the body of a woman aged in her 40s.
“Formal identification has not yet taken place although the woman’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
“As part of our inquiries, a 25-year-old woman from Bordon has been arrested on suspicion of murder. She remains in custody at this time.”
