This Morning viewers brand Spin To Win a ‘fix’ as wheel lands on the jackpot – leaving player in tears
THIS Morning viewers hit out at the show after a Spin To Win player won the jackpot today and broke down in tears.
Leane, from Manchester, won the biggest prize on the wheel, but some people watching at home said the game was fixed.
Spin To Win, which is played most days on This Morning, sees callers take home up to £3,000 on the spin of a wheel or the roll of a tombola.
After answering their phone with a pre-agreed phrase they get a shot at winning a cash prize.
This Morning’s cleaning gury Lindsey Crombie took part alongside Holly and Phil for the first time, and she spun the wheel for Leane.
Lindsey yanked on the wheel as Holly commentated from the sidelines, telling them: “It’s slowing down!”
Leane was soon heard sobbing down the phone and the studio erupted into cheers when the arrow pointed to £3000.
Leane said in disbelief: “Thank you so much” and told them she wanted to spend the cash on a holiday.
Despite rarely landing on the jackpot, some viewers said the wheel must have been “stopped”.
One fan reacted on Twitter: “B******s that was stopped.”
Another said: “Stopped on £3000, slowed dramatically at the end. Call me a cynic…(sic)”
And a third said: “Bloody fix again.”
Last year, Phil gifted an extra £1,000 to a Spin To Win player who had given her prize money to charity.
Big-hearted Sureka from Newcastle won a jackpot of £2,000 on the game but then asked for half the money to be donated to charity.
