I’m 40 and people make rude comments about my clothes – if you think I don’t dress my age now, wait until I turn fifty
A WOMAN in her forties has drawn the attention of naysayers who feel that she doesn’t dress her age.
With a word for the haters, taking to social media she showed that she doesn’t care, and dared people to keep an eye out for her style when she hits her fifties.
In a TikTok recording, Amina (@studiomucci) recalled something someone brought to her attention regarding her fashion sense that rubbed her the wrong way.
“I’m 40, and someone recently told me that I didn’t dress my age, and I didn’t look my age,” she said.
“I both disagree, and I kind of don’t understand, because like what’s a 40-year-old supposed to look like?” she continued.
“What does a 40-year-old dress like?”
She showed a series of images and clips of her walking around in a colorful doll-like look, her rainbow braids the star of the show.
Amina wore a pink babydoll dress with lace trim on the collars and the pockets.
A long line baby blue cardigan with white clouds adorning it was thrown on top, and she completed the outfit with a red strawberry purse and red high-top converse sneakers.
“I’m 40, and this is how I dress, and this is how I look,” she said.
“Therefore, I look my age,” she asserted.
“I think that’s just kind of the end of it,” she added adamantly.
She further solidified her stance in her caption.
“Hi I’m Amina and I wear whatever I want! If you think I don’t dress my age now, wait until I turn fifty!” she wrote adding a smiley face and a heart.
Her comments section made it clear that she inspired droves of people.
Loads of people encouraged her to continue to dress how she wants.
“You’re aging like wine because you’re not worried about other’s opinions, you look amazing,” one person wrote.
“Dress the way you want, no one else can decide that,” a second said.
“40???? Tell us your secret, you look great!” chimed in a third person.
Other people felt even more validated in what they wore thanks to Amina.
“I’m 34 and I wear mesh tops with bralettes and skinny jeans and mini skirts. I’ll keep wearing what I want!” one said.
“I am on the verge of turning 40 and I thank you for this!” added another.
“Thank you, you aging and dressing how you like gives me validation to continue,” said a third.
And an additional person shared a major word of encouragement when they said: “You are what you allow yourself to be. Be free. Or limit yourself with others hate-filled beliefs. Love yourself,” they wrote.
