I met a ‘perfect, gorgeous’ guy in the gym – we were about to go on a date until I found out his job, not today Satan
A SINGLE woman thought she met the man of her dreams at the gym and was excited about a potential date.
The “Greek God,” however, was quickly axed from her list after she discovered what he does for a living.
Nurse and singleton Arlene (@nursearlene88) shared a video showing her text conversation with the man to reveal when things went sour.
The back and forth began with the man asking her out for “dinner and nonalcoholic beverages” that evening.
Arlene, however, couldn’t help but notice a fire house sticker on his truck and asked him if he was indeed a firefighter.
To this, he confirmed that he was – and that was enough for her to end it.
“I’m sorry. I am so flattered and trust me, you’re extremely good looking,” she began in the text.
“But I can’t. I don’t want anything to do with a firefighter at this point in my life. It’s really not you. It’s me. Please don’t take it personally.”
The man was shocked, replying: “LOL! Are you kidding?”
After Arlene reiterated that she was being serious, she thanked him for his help at the gym.
He wondered why she was so adamant, asking: “Wait. Are you a nurse or something?”
Arlene said she was, and he begged her to reconsider: “I know we get a bad rep but geeze, c’mon. What if we really end up liking each other?”
That was exactly the kind of thing Arlene feared would happen, responding: “I’m sure we will and it will end badly lol. I’m positive you will ruin my life.”
The man didn’t give up: “Give me one shot. I promise I won’t disappoint.”
But Arlene shut him down once and for all: “This was not an invitation for you to try harder. My mind is set. Have a great day and life!”
In her caption, she warned other women about beautiful men like him: “When the devil sets a trap in the form of a gorgeous, gorgeous man with a chiselled jaw line, perfect smile, full head of hair and arms of a Greek God… you just say NOT TODAY SATAN!”
As for why she stays away from firefighters, she explained that her experience working with them has taught her a lesson: “They only pretend to be monogamous until they can’t do it anymore. I know how this ends so I just rather not start it.”
