Coronation Street fans shocked as legend quits the cobbles after 22 years
CORONATION Street fans are in shock after a fan favourite quit the cobbles after 22 years.
Fiz Stape left Weatherfield for a high-paying new job away from her family in tonight’s episode.
The machinist agreed to accept the job and left for a new life away from Weatherfield – at least for the time being.
“You’ll be seeing me again before you’ve even had a chance to miss me, though you are allowed to miss me a tiny bit,” she said to her emotional daughters as she left the cobbles.
“I want to come with you,” said Ruby while Hope told her sister they can’t.
Fiz turned to Evelyn to make sure she would be OK looking after Tyrone and the girls, but the battleaxe told her: “I’m not quite ready for the knackers yard thank you very much.
“We will I think survive so just stop fretting.”
With that she was off – but later video called her daughters to brag about her new life down south, and how she was living it up.
But fans can’t believe she’s gone after 22 years on the cobbles.
One wrote: “I can’t believe Fiz has left. I’m so sad.”
A second said: “Nooo! can’t believe she’s gone.”
Another added: “This can’t be true. Has she actually left?”
But while Fiz has left, actress Jennie McAlpine will return.
She has left for a temporary maternity leave while expecting her third baby.
