New driver, 17, dies days after passing her test in horror crash that’s seen 44-year-old arrested
A TEENAGER has been killed in a horror smash just 10 days after passing her driving test.
Alisha Osman, 17, tragically died when her Vauxhall Corsa collided with a white Ford Transit flatbed truck on the A388 at Stoke Climsland, Cornwall.
Emergency services rushed to the scene around 3.41pm on April 27.
Sadly, Alisha had suffered fatal injuries and was declared dead.
An inquest into her death will now take place.
Another teen, 16, was in the passenger seat of Alisha’s car at the time.
They were taken to Derriford Hospital, Plymouth, with life-changing injuries.
The Transit driver, 44, was taken to the same hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
He was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
He has since been bailed by cops until June 12.
A statement from Devon and Cornwall Police said at the time: “Local officers as well as officers from the Roads Policing Team attended the scene and completed a forensic examination.
“Once completed the road was re-opened as soon as possible. Officers would like to thank the public for their patience during this time.”
