I’m a home improvement pro – 3 free time-saving hacks for mowing your lawn, including the time of day to avoid
A HOME and garden expert said there are three things to keep in mind when mowing your lawn to get the most out of the task.
Although it may seem inconsequential, the time of day makes a big difference.
Sarahli (@hauz.and.co) is a home improvement, DIY, and decorating expert who uses her TikTok to share tips on beautifying your space.
In one video, she said it was time to address your yard.
“Here are a few lawn mowing tips that you might not know,” she began.
If your blades get clogged up with grass clippings as you go, she said a little oil would do the trick.
“Next time, use nonstick oil spray to prevent grass from sticking to the bottom.”
To prove her point, she compared images of the bottom of the mower from when she didn’t use oil to when she did.
“What do you think? Did it make a difference?” she rhetorically asked, knowing the answer was obvious.
The next tip addressed the length of your grass.
“Don’t forget to set your mower on medium-high settings to cut your grass.
“Cutting your grass too short focuses the grass energy to regrow the top, versus strengthening the roots at the bottom.”
Although you may not think the time of day that you mow makes a difference, it can completely alter the quality of your lawn.
“We often tend to cut the grass in the morning, but did you know procrastinating cutting the grass is a good thing?
“Wait until your lawn is dry and mow in the evening when the sun is easing in.”
Why? “Mowing early in the morning can dry up the grass quickly.”
