AFTER an astounding 12 years on the air, Jay Blades has revealed what the future holds for The Repair Shop.
In March it was revealed that the show was returning to BBC One with brand new episodes – leaving fans delighted.
The show sees members of the public bring their broken or tired sentimental items to the workshop in the hope they can be restored.
Now, Jay Blades has revealed the fate of the famous BBC show, revealing that it has been “renewed for two additional seasons.”
The popular series received the Daytime prize at the TV BAFTAs for an episode of The Repair Shop: A Royal Visit that featured King Charles III, when Jay and the specialists visited Charles at Dumfries House in Scotland.
“I think we’ve been commissioned for another two years if I’m not mistaken. We are going to do more. We’ve just won a BAFTA so I think they’re going to want us to stay on air,” The TV star told Hello magazine,
He also revealed that several fresh experts will be joining the team.
Last month, the Repair Shop host burst into tears on the show after discovering a “heartbreaking” item presented by a couple.
The couple brought the clay imprint of their late son David’s footprints, which were taken just days before he passed away at five months old.
Emese said: “We did the footprints at the hospital a couple of days before he passed away so it’s really precious to us.”
She revealed that she took David to A&E one night and they said he had cardiac arrest.
That’s when she discovered that he had “a very serious heart condition and the doctors couldn’t do anything for him”.
