I had my first date with someone & it was ‘f***ing crazy’ – I took him to hospital with suspected ‘testicular torsion’
FIRST dates can be awkward at the best of times, but one woman’s experience might be enough to put you off dating for good.
Amber Lee, 26, explained how she ended up taking a man to hospital during what should’ve been a romantic first meeting.
After chatting on Hinge for a couple of weeks, her date drove over two hours to see Amanda in Florida, things seemed to be going well with the mystery man.
“We had a whole day planned, we went to the gym and then later had dinner later,” Amanda explained.
But things took a turn for the worse when the bloke started complaining about having “stomach issues” at the restaurant.
The dating hopeful was none the wiser about what was really going on until he came back from the toilet though, and it wasn’t stomach problems.
He told her that he needed to be honest with her, and confessed that his “nuts hurt bad.”
After talking to his friends about his symptoms, the man concluded he had ‘testicular torsion’.
But since he had drove so far to come and see Amanda he ended up having to go to a hospital close to her, rather than one by his own house, so they set off to go together.
Amanda stayed with him when the doctors examined him, and even when he had to have an ultra sound on his testicles.
She even googled his symptoms for herself to try and work out what was wrong – and she turned out it be right, it wasn’t testicular torsion after all.
Luckily, the duo both saw the funny side of things, since it had been a good date until they had to ditch it for the hospital.
After sharing the unusual first date story on TikTok people were amazed Amanda stayed with the man in hospital, rather than leaving him to it.
“This is going to haunt him for the rest of his life,” one person commented on the clip.
A second agreed: “When you and your friends compare interesting first dates, you win.”
But others thought the date was “like something out of a romcom.”
“Nah your guys are 100 percent getting married now,” one said.
