Heartbreaking tributes to ‘precious angel’ Brit baby who died on holiday after ‘struggling to breathe’ at 5-star hotel
THE FAMILY of a six-month-old British baby who tragically died while on holiday in Turkey have shared heartbreaking tributes.
The tot, being named as Elizabeth Coffey by Turkish media, was on holiday at a five-star hotel in the town of Serik, in the Antalya Province on May 13 when tragedy struck.
The family’s dream holiday quickly turned into their worst nightmare when their baby girl began to have difficulty breathing at the luxury resort.
Upon receiving the distress call, a medical team was swiftly dispatched to the hotel, hoping to help the infant.
Baby Elizabeth was immediately rushed to a private hospital, but despite all efforts, doctors were unable to save her life.
It is unclear if the child was suffering from any illnesses prior to her death.
Following her tragic passing family and friends shared touching tributes and messages of support.
Kitty Margaret wrote: “Can’t believe this rest in peace baby girl. Please god comfort her mummy and daddy. Feel so heartbroken for them.”
Another commented: “RIP beautiful little angel.”
While another said she felt pain in her heart thinking of her grieving parents and added, “Rest in perfect peace little angel. Can’t believe it.”
Many shared heartbreaking photos of the youngster wearing a frilly blue dress and white bow with the caption, “…so sorry for your loss.”
A team at Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute is currently investigating the baby’s cause of death.
It comes after a British toddler drowned in a swimming pool at a holiday villa near Alicante last week.
Emergency responders including medical staff and police raced to the villa in La Nucia near Alicante in Spain where the tragedy occurred around 10am on May 12.
