The Hairy Bikers make epic TV return amid cancer battle as BBC announces new show
THE Hairy Bikers are set to make a huge return to screens with a new show following Dave Myers battle with cancer.
Dave, 65, revealed his diagnosis in May last year.
In March Dave spoke of his struggle with his “brutal” chemotherapy.
However, during the Wales Screen Summit, it was revealed that the TV personality and his Hairy Biker pal, Si King, 56 will make a dramatic comeback to television with a brand new show.
The Hairy Bikers Go West, will explore the incredible food producers, gastronomy, and scenery of Britain’s west coast.
This eight-part series for BBC Two and iPlayer will see the return of the iconic duo as they celebrate their friendship, and their passion for food.
The pair will travel from north to south, meeting the growers, farmers, and chefs who are fueling a “modern British culinary revolution”.
Each week they’ll ride across one stunning part of the west coast and explore the changing area through restaurants, recipes, producers and inventive new food entrepreneurs.
Starting in Scotland and riding all the way to Devon, the Bikers will revisit places that are meaningful to their past, special locations where their friendship was forged, and locations linked to their family history.
But it won’t be all familiar territory as they meet new people and explore new sights while cooking mouth-watering recipes inspired by the West Coast’s diversity.
Their journey will begin on Bute Island and they will travel through Dumfries & Galloway, Lancashire, Merseyside & the Isle of Man, North Wales, The Severn Estuary and Somerset, ending in Devon.
Along the way, they’ll meet some of the best artisan food producers in the UK alongside award winning chefs and an incredible array of locals keen to share their passion for local produce.
