AJ Odudu QUITS Married At First Sight after landing new Big Brother presenter job
AJ Odudu has confirmed that she will NOT host the next series of Married At First Sight after landing new Big Brother job.
The TV favourite, 35, said she was gutted to not be returning to the E4 spin-off show MAFS UK: Afters, after hosting the show since it first aired in 2021.
AJ currently has her hands full with new Channel 4 show The Greatest Auction and will be fronting the return of the iconic show, Big Brother when it returns on ITV later this year.
When asked if she’s hosting MAFS this year, AJ exclusively told The Sun at the BAFTAs: “I can’t do it this year – I’m so sad about it. I love Married at First Sight.
“I’d love to host it again, I’m obsessed with that show but I don’t know when that will happen.”
She added: “Everyone has been so complimentary about Big Brother – I’m just enjoying it.”
Big Brother is set to begin in autumn 2023 and will be co-presented by AJ and Will Best, while MAFS usually kicks off in August, with a longer instalment of 36 episodes this year.
Last month AJ broke her silence after being named the new host.
She said: “This is not a drill! I’m beyond excited to finally be able to say that, I am hosting Big Brother!
“I couldn’t be more ecstatic to front such an iconic show and to do it alongside my amazing friend Will Best is the icing on the cake. Get ready to be obsessed!
“Big Brother House, I’m coming to get you!”
It comes after The Sun revealed that the pair were due to be formally unveiled as the show’s hosts ahead of its new series this autumn.
A source said: “AJ has known since last year the Big Brother job was hers but she’s been waiting for her co-host to be confirmed.
“AJ and Will did a brilliant screen test together and their chemistry was brilliant. It was a no brainer. They are great friends too so to be able to work together is really exciting.
“They could not be more excited about joining forces to bring back Big Brother.
“AJ and Will are going to be formally announced by ITV really soon and they can’t wait to get stuck in.”
AJ will join forces with T4 presenter Will, who previously hosted talent show Dance Dance Dance alongside Alesha Dixon.
The Sun first revealed how AJ was finalising terms of her deal with ITV back in November.
She was chosen out of a legion of stars to host the show and beat off competition from stars including Alison Hammond, Emily Atack and Vick Hope.
