Channel 4 cuts ties with two beloved stars and launches investigation into clash with show bosses
CHANNEL 4 has cut ties with two of its most beloved stars after an investigation was launched into alleged clashes with show bosses.
The broadcaster confirmed it will not be working with the reality couple again.
Escape to the Chateau stars Dick and Angel Strawbridge and Channel 4 have severed ties and will not be working together again.
While the precise nature of the allegations against the duo is unknown, it is speculated that the reality stars did not see eye to eye with management.
According to Deadline, who spoke to three of Dick and Angel’s former colleagues, the decision came after an internal review of the situation.
A source close to the series explained the relationship between the production company Two Rivers and Dick and Angel had deteriorated.
The unrest prompted Channel 4 to launch an independent investigation to find out what had been going on.
The findings resulted in the broadcaster completely ending its relationship with the Dick and Angel Strawbridge.
A spokeswoman for Channel 4 said: “Following a review, we have taken the decision not to work with Dick and Angel on any new productions in the future.”
Meanwhile, production company Two Rivers Media backed the news, saying: “We can confirm that we will no longer work with Dick and Angel and cannot comment further at the moment.”
Two Rivers is the second firm to work with the Strawbridges having taken over from Spark Media Partners in 2020.
