I’m a self-made millionaire – here’s why the biggest financial mistake is who you choose to spend your life with
A SELF-made millionaire has warned romantics that choosing the wrong partner is the biggest financial mistake you can make.
Money coach Nicole Victoria has urged people to consider their future economic security when falling head over heels in love.
Having built her finance empire from scratch, the mum certainly knows a thing or two about maintaining a healthy bank balance.
Nicole wears many hats – wife, realtor, author, TikTok star, and CEO – but still finds the time to ward others off making monetary mistakes.
The savvy saver, based in the US, shares her tips, tricks and hacks to saving cash as the “No Budget Babe” on social media.
She incredibly became a millionaire at 30-years-old and says she has enough money invested so she and her husband can retire early.
Although Nicole and her partner have their love life and finances sorted, she warned others they could pay the ultimate price for love.
In her latest TikTok video, the millionaire said people need to dig into their significant other’s family dynamics to detect red flags.
She told her 1.5 million followers: “If you’re dating someone, you absolutely have to figure out whether they’re the youngest or oldest sibling.
“Because not only is your birth order directly connected to your achievements and personality, but studies show it can tell you how someone will manage their money.
“Something I always say is the biggest financial decision or mistake will be the person you choose to spend your life with.”
Nicole said that the eldest child is more likely to be responsible and driven – allowing them to make well-thought-out monetary moves.
She explained: “Apparently they are known to be more organised and punctual too – that doesn’t ring true for me, but hey.
“When it comes to money, this can mean they’re more likely to pay their bills on time, spend responsibly, and calculate their financial risks thoroughly before taking them.
“The downside is they tend to be perfectionists that usually struggle with burnout and are more likely to have a midlife crisis.
“I’ve hit those two points… now I’m waiting for the midlife crisis,” she joked.
Experts believe these qualities are instilled in firstborn children throughout their upbringing and interactions with their parents.
As more siblings are added into the mix, they typically take on the role of an authority figure while higher expectations of them are set.
Nicole then discussed children on the other end of the spectrum, who are the final addition to their family.
The entrepreneur continued: “The youngest child is used to living in the spotlight, they’re used to having people take care of them, they were the babies of the family.
“They’re usually more relaxed and social – but this could also lead to bad money habits like relying on their parents too long or lacking financial responsibility.
PECKING ORDER
“So they may tend to blame other things or other people for their financial problems.”
Despite the youngest child typically having a tendency to splash the cash, there is one large benefit to making them your beau.
Nicole added: “They typically know how to use their money to have a good time and that’s what money is about, right?
“Building your dream life.
“It’s important to remember that enjoying your life today and being good with money are not mutually exclusive.”
She later explained in the comment section that a middle child is likely to “overspend or hide their financial problems.”
Nicole said they are “known for ‘keeping the peace in their families, but may feel a desire to stand out in comparison to their older siblings.”
TikTok users were wowed by the millionaire’s perspective on relationships and finance while sharing their own experiences.
One said: “Is this the new zodiac sign?”
Another wrote: “I’m the youngest and my older brothers are terrible with money. I have very little debt and great credit.”
And a third added: “Thank you for this information!”
Others called on the money expert to create more videos delving into how only children handle their cash.
